An 02 spokesman has denied rumours suggesting that the much awaited iPhone 3G that is due to be released on 11 July might have an early launch at the O2 stores.
The rumours said that the launch will take place at 7am on 11 July, instead of the traditional evening launch, and that customers can start registering for the iPhone from as early as 1 July.
Various credible sites like Pocket Lint and Apple Insider had posted a statement by a certain John Partridge who claims that he got the information from a chatty staff member of a Midlands O2 store.
Partridge also claims that that each O2 store will receive 5000 iPhones units for launch day, the same amount as the original iPhone launch.
An O2 spokesman has called the information "absolute speculation".
