Pico Projectors are about to change the way we use personal devices. Any media player, mobile phone, camera, gaming device or laptop can now display a home cinema sized image thanks to a projector that fits in your hand.
In the race to launch the first products to the market here are 3 competitors almost available:
Cooldevice Picovid 102 :
Although a few units are already available in white; the next releases will be black. This pico projector is maybe more orientated to laptops than mobile phones or PDA as it proposes the traditional D-Sub 15 pins connection, and a little cooler that makes possible extended presentations. Until today it’s the cheapest solution.
Aiptek Pocket Cinema V10:
The Aiptek is also close to be in stock. On top of its SD card slot, it is the only one with 1GB built-in memory. Very compact (12,5 x 5,5 x 2,3 cm), the V 10 projects images with diagonals up to 50” (127 cm) !
The Pico from Optoma is not yet available, but with its DLP imaging technology from Texas Instruments it will be a serious competitor (although the price is still unknown…)
With a pico in your pocket you will have a home cinema screen wherever you go !
