After enjoying the huge success of its Skypephone S2, UK’s 3 mobile network is all set to launch a new handset focusing on another online application Facebook.
The information has been making waves on the blogosphere after 3 uploaded a page on its website promising its users that their new offering “will change the way you use Facebook on your phone. Trust us, you don't want to miss out."
Manufactured by INQ Mobile (A Hutchinson Whampoa company), and hence dubbed as “INQ1”, the handset will be wholly based on Facebook, which means that the handset enables its users to easily access various Facebook services, such as - unified contacts, Facebook chat, messaging, etc.
The handset which essentially is a basic slider (shares the same looks as the Nokia 6500) is unlikely to create any impact over the phone fashionistas, but the real strength of the device lies in its robust software, which remarkably supports the Facebook application and includes HSDPA support for high connectivity.
3 will be holding a press event next week to announce the handset and the phone is expected to be available on pay-as-you-go (PAYG) basis with a price tag of around GBP 99, sources reported.
In the meantime, you can register your interest here and wait patiently for the launch date on November 13th.
