Creative UK has officially launched its upgraded HD pocket camcorder, the Vado HD, 18 months after the original Vado was launched; it will be available for only £210 direct from Creative UK.
The pocket video cam can record up to two hours worth of video in 720p High Definition quality (1280x720) simply by pressing one button and storing the data on the inbuilt 8GB memory.
The device comes with a HDMI and USB connector as well as a 2-inch LCD screen; the Wide-angle glass lens and HD sensor helps the Vado HD produce much better quality images compared the original Vado.
Once the content has been recorded you can either edit it using the built-in software, upload it online to Youtube or Box.net seamlessly or watch it on your HD capable TV.
Note that the Vado HD only has a 2x digital zoom (no optical one) and can record up to 2 hours per charge. The 8GB memory should be enough for up to 8 hours (VGA resolution at 30FPS).
The original Vado HD is still available for £79.01 albeit with a lower specification and both cameras carry a one year limited warranty.

Personally we would go for a Toshiba Camileo or for a Sanyo Xacti which are both cheaper and do also support HD video. The latter is available for under £160 and packs a 9MP digital camera as well and comes with a 5x Optical Zoom. Unfortunately, built in memory is only 40MB (which you can upgrade to 16GB) and you still lack the user friendliness of Creative Labs' Vado.
