Rumours on blogosphere are rife that LG is all set to freshen up its Viewty handset line-up by unveiling a new handset by June this year.
The new handset, tagged as “Viewty 2” by rumour merchants, is expected to hit the UK market by the end of first half of this year with Orange as its network carrier, according to the reports from mobile phone blog Omio.com.
The phone blog notified that the 8-megapixel camera phone is all set to make its debut in the second quarter via Orange UK, and that the handset should be available in June.
Rumoured to run on the LG’s signature S-Class interface, the new Viewty 2, also known as ‘GC 900’, is said to have a 3-inch full WVGA touchscreen interface, Xvid and DivX video playback features, GPS features as well as 32GB of on-board memory.
Omio.com has further reported that a couple of other unannounced handsets, namely LG GW520 ‘Calisto’ and Samsung ‘Preston’, are also all set to make their debut via Orange networks.
The Samsung Preston is expected to make its debut in May, while LG Calisto is due in June this year. LG has refused to comment on the reports.

Interesting tidbits brought forward by Omnio. The Viewty has been selling fairly well it seems and is the only 5-megapixel touchscreen cameraphone currently available for under £100 (on O2). We expect LG to forcibly try to make its way in the top 2 phone manufacturers before long. It is currently ranked third in front of Motorola.
