Orange UK To Launch Comes With Music On Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic

Orange has been confirmed as the first UK mobile network operator to introduce Nokia's fantastic Comes With Music offer on the manufacturer's 5800 Xpressmusic smartphone.

The unlimited music download offer will be available from the 29th of May 2009 on two year contracts and the phone will be available in black and silver. Currently, Nokia 5800 models come in blue/black and in red/black colour scheme.

Customers will be able to download as much music as they want over the length of their contract and keep it forever even after their contract with Nokia ends, either on their phone or on their main computer (or both).

Microsoft has said that it could cost you more than $10,000 to fill up your iPod which means that Nokia's 5800 and CWM could pay for themselves several times over.

Prices will start from £24.77 per month up to £44.04 with five different minutes/texts/internet plans. More than 6 million tracks are currently available on Comes With Music and the 5800 XpressMusic has been an outright success ever since it was launched with more than 3 million devices sold.

Nokia's Comes With Music scheme is a unique proposition on the market and is unmatched. However it does bring out another tricky issue. What the hell would users buy music from Orange's Jukebox service for 99p per track when CWM comes for free.

Our Comments

Comes With Music could single-handedly change the way music is consumed in the UK. O2 certainly has the best looking phone with Apple's iPhone but Orange, as it stands has the most all rounded offer. We still need to see whether it comes with free unlimited internet like for O2 though. The music industry needs more scheme like CWM to defeat pirates.
