Nokia's latest XpressMusic handset, the 5530, is set to debut at Carphone Warehouse on the 11th of August although it can already be pre-ordered online.
The phone, which is a 107g touchscreen model, is built on the S60 5th edition platform and is a cut down (albeit nicer looking) version of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. Nokia Fanboy website says that Carphone Warehouse will get the phone exclusively for six weeks.
The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic - which will be Nokia's cheapest touchscreen - will be on a PAYG deal for £130 on Vodafone and will also be sold on a £15 Pay Monthly package on a 24 month contract.
Interestingly, the original 5800 XpressMusic is also available on the same network, with the same package for the same price. The Pay as You Go version costs £159.95 on T-Mobile or Virgin Mobile from E2Save, slightly more than the 5530 XpressMusic.
The 5530 XpressMusic was announced back in June 2009. It sports a 2.9-inch screen (that shows 640 x 360 pixels), a smaller 4GB memory card, no 3G connectivity and no GPS as well.
Nokia however chose to keep the accelerometer, the 3.5mm audio socket, WiFi and Edge connectivity as well as the camera complete with the flash.
The 5530 will be aiming this barebone version of the 5800 against the likes of the LG Cookie. No details about whether the 5530 will be bundled with the Comes With Music scheme.
