Consumer Focusis the statutory watchdog organisation that campaigns for a fair deal for consumers in the UK. In a recently published report they identified widespread concern among consumers around mobile phone tariffs and billing.
There are over 1.3m mobile deals, based on more than 84,000 separate mobile tariffs and 200 bundles.
The report details complexity and poor transparency around prices as a significant source of consumer dissatisfaction. Translation – Customers still can’t understand their bills. Complaints also continue about the cost of calling special-rate numbers from mobiles.
The watchdog vows to support the Communications Consumer Panel (who advise Ofcom), in addressing the impact of ‘not-spots’ and ensuring consumers are fully informed about coverage when choosing a mobile phone.
