Independent research company YouGov award Orange the number one spot for overall mobile broadband quality, in a report published today.
It’s the second time Orange have topped YouGov’s pops. Customers voted the company top in nine categories, including ease of use, staying connected and overall network coverage. The survey is eagerly followed by all the UK carriers and T-Mobile had previously rated number one in six of the categories.
Customer demand is moving from coverage to ever higher bandwidth and larger download needs. All networks are facing 3G congestion and the challenge that brings to their network capacity, and to their complaint handling teams. 3’s move towards traffic shaping may yet be trend setting. It’s still early days but watch carefully to see who follows their lead.
