The 2010 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas brought all kinds of new devices out to play. One particularly green invention is the Yogen charger. It’s a 100% green and sustainable charger that fits in the palm of your hand and has an extremely efficient internal alternator, powered by making repeat pulls on the attached ripcord. Retailing at around $40/£25, the unit is available in mini and micro USB varieties for maximum compatibility.
About a minute of pulling on the ripcord will give you enough juice to make a five minute phone call to ask, ‘Honey, where’s my charger?’.
The Yogen doesn’t just charge your mobile. Manufacturer Easy Energy lists stacks of other small electronic devices such as iPods, PDAs, MP3s, Gameboys, GPS units and cameras that can be given a few minutes of extra life with a bit of tugging on the cord.
