Bioshock 2, the much anticipated FPS follow-up game, has straight away claimed the top spot in the UK’s all format charts, outshining Mass Effect 2 to become the year’s biggest release in the gaming world so far.
The game has breezed past its rivals, which includes the likes of Just Dance, Mass Effect 2, FIFA 10 among others, to snare the top spot at the ELSPA GfK-ChartTrack All Formats Top 40 for this week.
Mass Effect 2, however, has tumbled down directly from its last week’s top position to eighth spot in the latest ChartTrack list, with sales figures of the game has just reduced to half of its previous week’s figures.
Ubisoft’s Just Dance has a firm hold at the second position, while FIFA 10 just seemed to have taking the advantage of the recent price promotions to climb to the third spot this week.
Furthermore, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 went down by one position from its previous third spot to fourth, while the following three spot were captured by Nintendo, with Wii Sports Resort, New Super Mario Bros and Wii Fit Plus respectively.
The most significant climber in the list is Sega’s Bayonetta, which jumped incredibly from the thirty-eighth position to number 10 this week.
CoD : MW2 is still by far the most popular game ever. Bioshock is a great game and has garnered quite a few awards - more than 50 at the last count - for now but it might be its price, from £24.99 at Game that made it such a success with multi platform players.
