Microsoft has launched an interactive demo site for its recently-announced Windows Phone 7 Series.
The site - which seems to be struggling to keep up with the weight of user traffic judging by several reports of outages - gives an interesting preview of the new mobile OS interface, with animated Silverlight demos aplenty.
Microsoft, which has struggled recently to make any kind of impact on the mobile market, seems to have taken a less-is-more approach to the Nike-led design. The interface is clean and simple relying on strong typography and animation rather than the graphical smoke and mirrors more normally associated with Apple and its iDevices.
The blogosphere seems to be split over whether then new mobile OS is up to scratch, with some commenters bemoaning the apparent simplicity whilst others applaud it.
You can't please everybody.
