£731 Dell Studio 15 Laptop Core i7-720 6GB RAM 500GB HDD

Dell is selling an upgraded version of its Studio 15 laptop that is not only as powerful as a fully fledged desktop but also comes with a 5 percent discount for a limited period, bringing the price of the laptop from £769 to £731.

Studio is Dell's midmarket laptop range and is located above the more basic Inspiron models. The particular Studio version that caught our eye comes with an Intel Core i7-720QM that has a speed of up to 2.8GHz.

It also comes with the 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium, 6GB RAM, a huge 500GB hard disk drive, a powerful 1GB ATI Radeon HD5470, a 15.6-inch LED-backlit display and a DVD writer.

Users will be able to connect to the internet via the bundled 802.11b/g connection and may use the onboard 2-megapixel web camera to initiate video calls.

In addition, Dell has included one year worth of online backup courtesy of its Datasafe service together with a 15-month subscription to McAfee's Security Centre solution.

You might want to upgrade the battery to a 9-cell model which will give you 50 percent more juice. There's also an option to add a full HD screen (that's 1920 x 1080 pixels) for another £70.

The five percent discount code is Z7C1W42W1XRDL0 and the Dell Studio 15 can be found here (opens in new tab).
