Taiwanese manufacturer HTC may launch the third iteration of its popular Touch Pro smartphone in the third quarter of this year in Europe according to persistent rumours.
A member of the XDA-developers who is based in the Czech Republic claims to have got exclusive details from one of his friends who happens to be the "main distributor for HTC in Europe" (ed : that might be Expansys) who told him that they will received the first shipment of the Touch Pro3 in the next few months.
The device will apparently be much smaller and thinner, something that could mean that it will be a touchscreen only model, which could therefore exclude the HTC Tera which is like the Nokia N97 Mini but will certainly cost less.
The phone will almost definitely ship with Windows Mobile 6.5 rather than Windows Phone 7 Series and we suspect that it will have to comply with the minimum hardware specifications if HTC wants to provide with an upgrade path.
The Touch Pro3, if it is ever released, will be the first Windows smartphone launched by HTC ever since the HD2 which will unfortunately not be upgradable to Windows Phone 7.
