3UK has announced that it will be bundling 60-days worth of Spotify premium membership with all its Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and Vivaz smartphones from today, a deal worth £19.98 and which will allow the smartphone users to get access to millions of tracks.
The X10 will be Sony Ericsson's first Android handset on 3UK and will introduce some nifty features like Timescape which allows brings together the various status updates of the user's contacts into one single place.
Sylvia Chind, 3UK's Head of Branded Device, said that “We’re excited to be able to offer this great Spotify Premium promotion on the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 [and Vivaz]. Spotify Premium on mobile gives our customers the ability to enjoy and share music on the go at the best value."
Users looking to activate the Spotify membership will have to text SPOTIFY to 39000 and users will have to opt out of the trial if they don't want to continue paying after the two months are over.
They can then transfer at any time with a 30-day notice. Spotify has changed the way people listen to music across the country thanks partly to the fact that it allow listeners to stream music for free.
The 8.1-megapixel handset is available from 3 networks for £35 per month for two years with 700 minutes, unlimited texts and internet although you'd have to pay £100 towards the cost of the mobile.
Great deal but very expensive. Unfortunately for 3 Networks, the X10 is much cheaper elsewhere. At £940, the total cost of ownership over two years is simply too high. Vodafone for example offers 900 minutes, unlimited landline calls and texts plus internet for £35 flat.
