According to Chinese site xpreview.com, Nvidia will introduce another Fermi iteration on June 1.
The product will be hawked under the GTX 460 label and is pitched at AMD's HD 5850 in terms of price and performance, the sources have it.
The package will sport 1GB of GDDR5 memory on a 256-bit bus. Charlie says it will have around 256 shaders. If this is indeed the GF104 tape-out of which he speaks. An upcoming GTX 450 is expected to have 192 shaders.
Nvidia is not laying down strict design guidelines for the chip, partners will be able to fiddle and tweak their own GTX 460 boards to their hearts' content.
Whether the yields hold up remain to be seen.
