Teenager Sues Own Mother Over Facebook Hack

Lane New, a 16 year old resident of Arkansas, has sued his own mother, accusing her of 'hacking' into his Facebook accounting, posting slanderous comments and changing his password so he may never be able to access it.

The boy's mother, Denise New claims that all she did was act like a responsible parent should do, when she saw some 'disturbing' messages posted by her son on the social networking platform, after he had forgotten to log-off from his account before leaving the system.

According to the Associated Press, Lane New, who lives with his grandmother, filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office, which approved the charges of harassment on the mother on March 26th.

Meanwhile, Denise, who has denied ever hacking into her son's Facebook account, has been asked to appear before the Clark County Courthouse on May 12th 2010.

Denise New, who has decided to fight the charges made against her by her own son, said that the reason she changed her son's Facebook password was due to the fact that she had managed to read a disturbing comment made by her son, in which his son claimed to have come home driving home at 95 Mph because he was angry at a girl.

Our Comments

Expressing her views on the prevailing situation, Denise New told the Associated Press in a statement that “The things he was posting in Facebook would make any decent parent's eyes pop out and his jaw drop. If I'm found guilty on this it is going to be open season.”
