Micro blogging giant Twitter has dished out the much waited @anywhere Twitter integration tool, which is designed to allow developers to embedded existing Twitter functions on to their websites.
The platform was announced by the company during its recent Chirp developer conference along with the Twitter for Android application, which will be rolled out soon enough.
The company announced that developers can start using the application after downloading it from the newly launched Twitter developer website. Twitter, which was launched in March 2006, has grown to be one of the biggest social networking platforms in the world.
Twitter Co-founder Biz Stone, commenting on the launch of the platform, said in a statement that “Last month we previewed an incredibly simple set of web tools which enable partner websites to easily integrate Twitter functionality into their site experience called @anywhere. We're happy to announce this service is live and ready for anyone.”
The @anywhere platform launched by Twitter will allow users to log into Twitter, follow a Twitter conversation right on the site and interact in other ways.
The purpose of the platform is to spread Twitter's popularity and to allow users to use Twitter without leaving the website they are on.
Twitter is on the right track to deliver some great solutions. It has announced its first real service aimed at bring in some of the revenues that many are expecting it to rake in. Still with tens of millions of regular users, the microblogging website needs to act fast.
