Apple Inc., the company responsible for the iPhone smartphone, has announced that the 3G version of its iPad tablet device will be available in the US from the 7th of May, days before the company even starts taking pre-order requests for European users.
The company said in statement that its US customers will be able to get their hands on the 3G version of the highly popular device by May 7th even when the company is expected to announce the Europe pre-order date on May 10th.
Meanwhile, as angry mails from dejected European customers pour into Steve Jobs mail account, complaining about the delay in the devices European launch, Steve Jobs replied to one customer who had accused Apple of 'pulling the wool over' the eyes of European customers, by saying that in order to ensure a perfect European launch for the iPad, the company needs 'enough' units in order to meet the projected demand.
Last week, Apple had announced that the company will be delaying the UK launch of the coveted device owing to the excessive demand for the device in the US.
The company had said that “We know that many international customers waiting to buy an iPad will be disappointed by this news, but we hope they will be pleased to learn the reason-the iPad is a runaway success in the US thus far.”
