Mobile phone operator Vodafone has taken some unprecedented steps to inch ahead of the competition when it comes to selling the HTC Desire as it cuts the contract price of the device to a mere £15 per month, rising to £30 for the last three months.
We've been told by a third party that Vodafone is selling the package via their VodafoneUKdeals Twitter account. A valid Twitter account is essential since you will need to follow them first.
The 18-month contract has a total contract cost of £405 which is equivalent to monthly cost of £16.88 per month. There's also a shorter 18-month contract with a total cost of ownership of £390 and a per month cost of £21.67.
The package consists of 600 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet with a fair usage policy limit of 500MB. At the time of writing, just over 3000 people had expressed their interest for the deal.
You will need to send them an email (through this link) with your Twitter name, contract number and using the subject line MMM135 and they promise that they will get in touch with you soon.
The web relations team manning that Twitter account also reports that they've had "unprecedented" demand for the HTC Desire, which bodes very badly for the Google Nexus One that's supposed to go on sale by the end of this month.
Interestingly, Vodafone sells that same package for £30 per month; we've also been assured that there are other packages available on demand.
