Samsung Partners With O2 On "Iron Man" Monte Smartphone

Korean phone giant Samsung has teamed up with O2 to launch a special edition of its Monte smartphone that will feature exclusive content to coincide with the release of Marvel's Iron Man 2.

The phone will come with a microSD card containing the original version of the Iron Man movie as well as selected content from the Iron Man 2 version. This will include the trailer and footage of interviews with the cast and crew (ed : how this is exclusive is beyond me).

The Samsung Monte is your run-of-the-mill smartphone which first appeared at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona back in February 2010. It has a 3-inch WQVGA capacitive touchscreen, a 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and the now ubiquitous TouchWiz UI.

As expected, it will offer native support for social networks such as Myspace, Facebook, Twitter and Bebo. It will arguably face some tough competition from the likes of the HTC Tattoo and Samsung's older generation of touchscreen smartphones.

The phone is already available from O2 (opens in new tab) from as little as £10 on a two year contract (£15 on an 18-month one) for which you will get unlimited texts and 50 minutes which in all honesty is great value.
