Twitter has released a set of business-oriented tools for corporate accounts.
Technology blog Mashable reported that the new business toolkit would be available for testing by selected users, before being rolled out in the near future.
Mashable managed to procure an email sent to selected businesses by Twitter, inviting them to test the 'business-centric' Twitter toolkit.
The Twitter Business Center brings together a range of features aimed at helping businesses market themselves on the popular micro-blogging platform.
In a statement, Twitter said one of the biggest additions to its business tools is the ability of businesses to agree to receive direct Twitter messages from people they don't follow.
The new Twitter toolkit will allow businesses to change or customise the contents of their official Twitter page, and include a 'Verified Account' badge on their page as a mark of security and authenticity.
Businesses will be also given access extra 'preferences' allowing them to reach customers in a more effective manner.
They will be also given the choice to add multiple contributors, so that team members can tweet from their individual accounts.
