Cisco Systems has revealed plans to take over MOTO Development Group in a statement on Tuesday.
San Francisco-based MOTO is a design consultant that specialises in designing and refining innovative products, and has worked with Cisco on its digital camcorder line, Flip.
The deal, worth an undisclosed sum, will bring more than 35 design experts to the consumer products team of Cisco, led by general manager Jonathan Kaplan.
In a statement, Cisco said MOTO's shared its philosophy of providing "transformational product experiences that delight consumers", and called the acquisition "a step towards embedding consumer design and ease of use into Cisco products for the consumer market."
The deal is expected to finalise in the fourth quarter ending 31 July of the present fiscal year.
Cisco has been in news after it acquired the Pure Digital Technologies Inc. last year, and Tandberg ASA last month.
