Starcraft sequel censored for Korea

Sci-fi strategy game Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty is to be released in a toned-down version for the Korean market.

In its original form, the build 'em up and blow 'em up multiplayer game was given an adults only 18 rating by the Korean authorities, forcing game maker Blizzard to submit a revised version with gore coloured black, fruity language removed, and a strict no smoking policy.

According to Eurogamer, the game is massively popular in Korea and Starfcraft tournamants draw huge crowds and are even often televised.

The new version has now received a 12 rating but the company is still considering and Adults Only release of the game for those of a less sensitive disposition.

Wings of Liberty, the first part of a Starcraft 2 trilogy, is released on July 27th.
