Mozilla developers are working towards bringing the Firefox Home application to Apple's iPhone.
Announced in a post on the Mozilla blog, the application will be released to expand Mozilla's presence on the iPhone.
Firefox Home, which is based on Firefox Sync technology, will allow iPhone users to sync their browsing history, bookmarks, favourites and saved pages on their Firefox for Mac browser with the Firefox browser on their iPhone.
The application will also allow users to restore browser tabs from their last browsing session, whether on their iPhone or Mac.
The company says that the application will come with an 'Awesome Bar' designed to automatically type the names of the websites that are most visited by the users to reduce the need for excessive typing.
In a statement, Mozilla said: “Firefox Home for iPhone is part of a broader Mozilla effort to provide a more personal Web experience with more user control.”
The company believes that the syncing functions that come with the application will attract customers into using Firefox as their default desktop and mobile browser.
