George W Bush joins the Facebook generation

Former US President George Dubya Bush has joined the Facebook revolution just as everyone else is getting out, it seems.

Bush's Facebook account, which was opened recently, has had 61,331 positive responses so far.

But it seems that Bush hasn't got his head around the technology and has tasked one of his flunkies with letting the world know what he's up to in his retirement, and looking after his Farmville plot.

All of the content so far posted is written in third person by what appears to be a PR bunnie, and sounds more like a CV than a personal journal.

"Since leaving office, President Bush has remained active. He has visited 20 states and 8 countries; given over 65 speeches; launched the George W Bush Presidential Center; participated in 4 policy conferences through The Bush Institute; finished the first draft of his memoir, "Decision Points"; and partnered with President Clinton to establish the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund," the first post reads.

The only other supposedly personal post is a plug for his wife's book.

We're not sure if someone is moderating the comments but we'd be very surprised if that were not the case, as Bush's Wall is filled with nothing but praise and good wishes for the 43rd President of the United States.

"I thank God for you and look forward to His provision of another Man of God that loves his country to LEAD us again," is quite typical.
