Yahoo has appointed Raymie Stata as their new Chief Technology Officer.
Stata will replace Farzad Nazem, who stepped down from the post of Chief Technology Officer this April.
Raymie Stata was the company's chief architect before this appointment was made and had joined Yahoo in 2004 after the company acquired is research firm.
Raymie was the chief strategist behind developing Yahoo's advertising platform and also had an integral role in initiating cloud computing infrastructure evolution of the company.
On the Yahoo blog, the company stated: "As chief architect, Raymie led transformative efforts to rewire Yahoo, moving from a set of vertical silos to a horizontal platform infrastructure,"
Stata is a computer science graduate from UC Santa Cruz's Baskin School of Engineering and will now be working with Yahoo's chief Scientist, Prabhakar Raghavan and Chief Product Officer Blake Irving.
