The award for the most beautiful tweet has been given to Marc Mackenzie, during the Hay Festival of Literature and the Arts.
The Hay Festival ran a competition to find the best tweet on its Twitter page, inviting entries from Twitter users around the world.
Marc Mackenzie's tweet went: " I believe we can build a better world! Of course, it'll take a whole lot of rock, water & dirt. Also, not sure where to put it." The winner was selected technophile comedian, Stephen Fry.
MacKenzie, a 41-year-old medical physicist from Canada, submitted more than 30 tweets in the contest.
The regulators said the winning tweet could be either eloquent, impassioned, emotive or a pun.
Mackenzie's Twitter stream has gone from a mere 150 followers to over 1,000 followers on news of the prize.
Stephen Fry, who honoured the winner in Wales, has over 1.5 million followers for his Twitter account.
