The release of the iPhone 4 is set to delight wannabe rock-stars and virtual farmers alike with the announcement that Guitar Hero and Farmville will be made available for the device.
Announced during Apple's World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC), the Guitar Hero application is now available for download from the app store.
Coming with classic and contemporary rock songs from bands like the Rolling Stones and Vampire Weekend, the Guitar Hero application has been made available for the iPhone 4 by the inclusion of a specially designed strumming mechanism.
Farmville, previously a solely Flash-based game, has created an application, not based on Flash technology, to be sold through the app store.
The application will allow users to make in-app purchases and has the ability to sync game results with their Facebook profiles.
The application will also come with options of maintaining user friend lists.
During the conference, Zynga CEO Mark Pincus said: “Farmville is our most popular game and we’re excited to bring it to the most popular gaming platform in the world.”
Farmville is set to be released at the end of June to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the release of the original game.
