Adobe has released the new version 3 of its Photoshop Lightroom software for both Windows and Macintosh platforms.
The new version adds a number of new features, including the ability to import and export of digital SLR videos, an automatic lens correction feature and customisable print layouts.
Lightroom 3 also offers users the ability to tether selected Nikon and Canon cameras to a laptop for live uploads.
Adobe also claims the application is now faster and more responsive than the previous version.
Photoshop Lightroom 3 is available now for $299. Existing Photoshop Lightroom users can upgrade to the latest product for just $99.
The product has been launched after extensive public beta tests lasting nearly nine months. Adobe says that Photoshop Lightroom 3 was downloaded more than 600,000 times during this period.
Kevin Connor, vice president of product management for Digital Imaging at Adobe, said: "The open dialogue with customers allows us to improve Lightroom and provide the best tools they need to produce high-quality images. We’re happy to see that so many people are anxiously anticipating the final release.”
