The Sony Ericsson X10 smartphone has been out for nearly three months now and while a number of contenders have appeared on the market lately, it still ranks amongst one of the best Android-based smartphones thanks in part to the combination of large touchscreen, exceptional camera and a 1GHz SoC.
As a reminder, the phone comes with a 4-inch 480x854 pixels TFT capacitive touchscreen that can display 16 million colours (but is currently limited to Android OS v1.6). It has a 8.1-megapixel camera with AF, one of the highest on the market.
Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz SoC, it has 384MB RAM and 1GB NAND onboard storage. Connectivity-wise, the Xperia X10 sports a microUSB port, Wi-Fi, aGPS, all weighing only 135g.
The price of the Xperia X10 has dropped down significantly over the last few months, so much so that you can get the phone from Mobiles.co.uk (on Vodafone) for as little as £23.33 per month after £90 automatic cashback. The price includes 600 minutes and unlimited texts but no data plan which makes it great if you plan to connect online using a Wi-Fi connection.
