Microsoft is set to provide Hotmail users with a new, updated version of the e-mail service, offering increased storage space and more options for attaching files.
The new Hotmail service will provide access to third-party services such as Youtube, Flickr, Hulu and Pandora without the need for users to leave the Hotmail page. It will also supply Google-like conversation views and mobile synchronisation applications.
Microsoft has incorporated a new 'Sweep' menu, which allows Hotmail users to organise their in-box more efficiently by getting rid of unwanted clutter.
The new Hotmail facilitates proper organisation and image viewing through slideshows, and users will be able to access Office Web Applications to edit and create documents on the move.
Writing on the Windows Team blog, Mike Schackwitz, Program Manager Windows Live Hotmail team, stated: "If you don't see these features today, please hold on just a little while longer--everybody will be upgraded this summer”
