Search giant Google has updated its Gmail service for users of Apple's iPad tablet device.
Google has significantly changed the user interface for those accessing Gmail from the iPad, as well as fixing several bugs that hindered the user experience on the device.
Cnet reports that the Gmail for iPad update has changed the Compose mail window, enlarging it across the screen to highlight the e-mail
This is aimed at keeping the user's focus on mail creation, with easily accessible options to access the inbox and save or discard the message.
Previously the iPad screen was divided equally between the inbox on the left, and the e-mail composition on the right.
The company also said that the update also covers many bugs affecting the service for the iPad, including the one that did not allow users to scroll down to read long messages.
Google has stated that currently the changes are limited to US English only.
