Paul McCartney lends concert vid to AIDS charity

Ex-Beatle Paul McCartney is coming over all Bono and giving an AIDS charity free access to footage from a forthcoming gig in London's Hyde Park.

The sole surviving Beatle* will allow the Born HIV Free charity, which tries to prevent HIV-positive expectant mothers transmitting the disease to their unborn babies, to broadcast footage of the open-air concert for a month on its Youtube Channel (opens in new tab).

The video will be uploaded at around 8.30pm on Sunday June 27th. In the meantime, you can see an appeal video on the YouTube site featuring pint-sized French Premier Nikolas Sarkozi's wife Carla Bruni appealing for donations to the worthwhile cause.

It's worth a look if only because her smoky French accent makes us go all funny in the Gentlemen's area, even if she is talking about AIDS.

*We don't count Ringo. We agree with John Lennon who, when asked if Starr was the best drummer in the world, replied, "He's not even the best drummer in the Beatles." monitors all leading technology stories and rounds them up to help you save time hunting them down.
