Microsoft has introduced three new certification courses for IT professional and students looking to get expert training in using the new Office 2010 productivity suite.
Microsoft said that the certification, Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS), will have three distinct levels, specialist, expert, and master, making it the only official certification available for the products in the industry.
The company expects that almost a million people will take and pass the certification exam in this year alone.
In an official statement, the company said: “The MOS certification program helps individuals gain mastery of all Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, SharePoint Server, and Project.”
Currently specialist level certification is only available for Word 2010 Core and Excel 2010 Core, but further additions to the certification program, including Project 2010, Outlook 201 and PowerPoint 2010, are expected in the future.
Microsoft has said that it has donated vouchers to the Elevate America program to allow unemployed Americans to improve their software skills.
