Apple is inviting subscribers to it's iDevice syncing service the chance to participate in beta testing of a new version of MobileMe Calendar.
The cloud-based software has been redesigned with familiar book-like views of day, week and month views and users are being asked to sign up to the beta testing programme at me.com. The company will send out email notifications once the beta goes live.
Apple says it has improved the performance and that calendars will open and update much faster using Safari 5, Firefox 3.6, and Internet Explorer 8.
Calendars can easily be shared with other MobileMe members who will be able to update entires if you allow them, and the beta will also allow one public read-only calendar to be published to the wider world.
To use the MobileMe Calendar beta, you need to be running iOS 4 on iPhone or iPod touch, iOS 3.2 on iPad, Mac OS X Snow Leopard version 10.6.4.
Apple says it will also add Microsoft outlook support for PCs to MobileMe Calendar by the time it is finished
