HTC Ace To Pip Gold As Best Of Bunch Smartphone?

Earlier today, we reported about the HTC Gold whose existence was revealed thanks to Omio, a mobile news website; there's another handset, the Ace, that might actually steal the show from the HTC Gold.

Not much is known of the handset except that some sources claim that it is a cross between the HTC Evo and the HTC Incredible, two of the latest phones from the Taiwanese designer which have superseded the HTC Desire as the top-end models.

The Ace is likely to be an Android 3.0 powered smartphone (Gingerbread is said to be launched towards the end of the year), running a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (at 1.5GHz we'd guess), with a 4.3-inch AMOLED screen like the EVO and a resolution of 800x480 pixels or higher.

As usual, you'd expect it to have all the goodies that normally come with a top end handset; Wi-Fi, GPS, 8-megapixel camera with HD video recording & flash and possibly more.

The phone was part of the long list of handsets whose names were mentioned in the Omio leak here (opens in new tab) and is expected to come to the UK in October 2010.

Expect it to replace the HTC Desire at the helm and possibly push the Gold/Scorpion out of the picture completely (ed : Actually, maybe the Ace is the Scorpion?).
