New Range Of Asus EEE PC Netbooks Coming Soon

Asus will start shipping a trio fnew EEE PC netbooks, the 1015p, 1016p and 1018p by the end of next month although Asus has yet to say when they will land in the UK.

Some online retailers have already started to take preorders of the netbooks which carry a starting price of $499. The 1016p and the 1018p share a number of features.

They both have the same high quality aluminium brushed finish with a chiclet keyboard, comes with Windows 7 Starter Edition, Intel Atom N455 processors clocked at 1.66Ghz, a 10.1-inch LCD display with a 1024x600 pixels resolution, Bluetooth 3.0, 6-cell battery, 802.11bgn Wi-Fi, a card reader, a webcam and 500GB of Asus Web storage.

However, the 1016p has twice the amount of onboard memory (2GB vs 1GB) and a bigger hard disk drive (320GB vs 250GB). The beefier model can be had for $500 while the lesser version costs $430.

As for the 1015p, it sports an Intel N450, 1GB RAM, a 250GB hard disk drive plus the same array of features and the same display as on the other models except for the USB ports which appear to be USB 3.0 models.
