Microsoft has unveiled the latest version of its customer relationship management (CRM) software, Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011.
The announcement came at Microsoft's ongoing Worldwide Partner Conference. The software, previously referred to as 'CRM 5', is expected to offer enhanced integration with Outlook and Sharepoint, and better interoperability with Microsoft Office.
Microsoft says that the CRM will be launched as a public beta in September.
In a statement, Brad Wilson, Microsoft CRM general manager, said: “What that really does is it lets you take full advantage of Outlook features, conditional formatting and the other things we do in Outlook. We're treating CRM data the same way we treat email data, making it a more Outlook-native experience.”
The company also announced plans to release the Microsoft Dynamics Marketplace in September.
The marketplace will contain applications developed by Microsoft partners that can be downloaded and installed on both online and on-premise version of Microsoft Dynamics.
