BMW has announced the inclusion of the ‘iPod Out’ feature from the new iOS 4, onto on-board entertainment systems in all new vehicles.
The car manufacturer has stated that the feature will allow all BMW and Mini car owners to control their iPhones and iPods from their vehicle's on-board entertainment system. Users will also be able to use their gadget’s Genius feature and create their own custom playlists.
Compatible devices will include the iPhone 3G, 3GS, iPhone 4, along with second and third generation iPod Touch devices.
BMW has said that “future vehicles equipped with this technology will be able to adapt more quickly to the software lifecycles of iPod touch and iPhone.”
