I have to admit to being just a little bit excited the first time I made a Face Time video call from our brand new iPhone 4.
Video conferencing is nothing new but Apple's implementation of the two-way video chat really is very cool indeed. But chatting to a colleague who was sitting 30 feet away from me didn't exactly stretch the technology to its limits.
I also have to confess to being giddy as a schoolgirl the first time I was able to make a phone call from the seat of an airborne plane, even if it did cost an arm and half a leg for a few seconds of pointless chatter. You can see where I'm going here, I suspect.
TUAW has posted a video to YouTube which shows reader Bill G making a Face Time call to site blogger Erica Sadun whilst sitting in plane seat somewhere above Kansas in an American Airlines jet.
Both Bill and Erica are so overcome by the experience that they don't actually say very much, and the signal flakes out a bit towards the end of the brief exchange, but it's a milestone for the iPhone 4 all the same.
I'm tempted to book a flight just to try it out.
