NetApp And Microsoft Promote SME Cloud Data Protection

NetApp has announced enhanced integration with Microsoft to help small and medium businesses improve data protection on cloud services, technology news portal Datacenter Dynamics announced on Monday.

Data storage and management expert NetApp is set to provide enhanced data protection solutions to businesses that offer cloud services in collaboration with Microsoft’s Dynamic Datacenter Toolkit.

"SMBs are demanding enterprise-class disaster recovery solutions, and hosting service providers are in a tremendous position to fill that demand as more SMBs move toward hosted IT services," said John Zanni, general manager of worldwide hosting for the communications sector at Microsoft.

According to Patrick Rogers, NetApp’s vice president for solutions and alliances marketing division, the collaboration is targeted at local cloud service providers to allow them to provide their customers with enterprise-class data protection services.

The data protection capabilities will include disaster recovery, backup, recovery and clustered failover.
