The Google Maps Send-To-Car feature is now supported by over 20 car manufacturers around the world, technology news website The Next Web reports.
Writing on Google's Lat Long blog, Engineering and Product Manager Markus Mühlbauer wrote: "When we started the ‘Send-To-Car’ service on Google Maps more than three years ago with BMW, only a few car makers offered connected services to their drivers. The industry has come a long way since then.”
The blog details the list of car manufacturers supporting the navigation system. These include Ford's Lincoln and Mercury vehicles using Ford's SYNC; and GM vehicles that use OnStar, including Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Hummer, Pontiac, Saab and Saturn.
The system is currently supported by 15 car manufacturers in the US alone, as well as by a number of high-end brands in 18 other countries.
