Google and advertising firm Omnicom Media have entered a two year online advertising partnership, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.
Under the two year global partnership deal, Omnicom is set buy hundreds of millions of dollars worth of display advertisements for clients on Google’s websites.
in return, Google will build a global “trading desk” to help Omnicom buy display advertisements on Google's advertising exchange.
Google will also provide Omnicom with research data on the success of all its adverts.
"Google will help co-develop OMG’s display buying capabilities, including their trading desk, which buys display ad space on exchanges including the DoubleClick Ad Exchange,” stated a spokeswoman for Omnicom.
"We are currently buying tens of millions each year through Trading Desk, and because we have every expectation that the number will continue to rise due to client success and interest, we are locking into best of breed deals like the Google agreement."
According to the report, the global agreement is not exclusive, and so will not affect Omnicom's dealings with other companies, including Facebook and Yahoo.
