Motorola Milestone XT720 Goes On Preorder In The UK for £360

The Motorola Milestone XT720 has gone on sale in the UK with a release date due for the 20th of July 2010. UK retailer Play (opens in new tab) is selling the SIM Free device, which is also known as the Motoroi, for £360 including delivery.

The phone has a different form factor compared to the Motorola Milestone but keeps the same hardware specifications. Namely, an ARM Cortex A8 processor running at 720MHz, 256MB RAM, 8GB microSD Card, a 3.7-inch screen that can display 480x854 pixels.

Motorola has also added a 8-megapixel camera with a Xenon flash, an array of sensors, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, a mini HDMI connector and Google Android OS v2.2. There's also a docking station available which Clove is not selling for now.

No mobile phone networks have yet confirmed the availability of the Motorola XT720 but given the fact that the Milestone had a rather cold welcome from most of them, we've got doubts as to whether the XT720 will have a wide following.

The device carries a suggested retail price of £450 and will go head to head against the HTC Desire which is competitively priced, more powerful and has twice the amount of onboard memory.
