NVIDIA has received the Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Lab certification for its 258.96 range of drivers which bring support for 3D vision and GeForce GTX 460 GPU.
According to the company blog, the newly released drivers are available for notebook PCs running on NVIDIA Optimus technology, as well as desktops.
NVIDIA explained that the new drivers will offer support for Blu-ray 3D, allowing users to watch 3D movies on their notebook and desktops.
The company said: “It’s pretty clear that Hollywood is going 3D. So, it makes sense that now 3D movies are making their way to Blu-ray disc thanks to NVIDIA 3D Vision technology.”
NVIDIA has said that some games, including "Alien v/s Predator", "BattleForge" and "Just Cause 2", have shown improvements in their graphics because of the new drivers.
The 258.96 drivers will also come with enhanced video quality, support for multiple GPUs in a single system, support for applications based on CUDA Toolkit 3.1 and full OpenGL 4.0 support.
