Sony Ericsson appears to be determine to catch up with the rest of the competition as the manufacturer appears to have stealthily cut the price of the Xperia X10 mini with a little help of mobile phone operator T-Mobile.
Buymobilephones.net is currently selling the smartphone with 300 minutes, 300 texts and unlimited internet booster, plus a £20 automatic cashback for a mere £15 per month on a two year contract.
The cashback means that the effective price of the contract is slashed to £14.17. The handset is available SIM Free for around £230 which means that the cost of the contract without the phone is less than £5 per month.
The X10 Mini is about the size of a credit card weighing only 88 grams. It has a 600MHz Qualcomm processor, a 2.55-inch toushcreen with onscreen QWERTY keyboard, a 5-megapixel camera with flash, support for up to 32GB memory and HSDPA connectivity.
The handset is going head to head against the HTC Wildfire which offers the same amount of minutes, texts and data allowance. The X10 Mini comes with Android OS 1.6 while the Wildfire carries the superior OS 2.1.
