You Tube has launched a revamped 'music discovery' web page, designed to help users find music videos more easily, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The page is divided into categories, including Today’s Hits, World Music, Religious, R&B and Soul, Rock, Classical, Rap and Hip-Hop, Country and Folk, Electronic and Pop. It also displays lists of most viewed music videos, special promotions, curated playlists, and unsigned talent.
The page says: “If you want easier ways to discover music on YouTube, just start here. Our revamped music page showcases the most viewed music videos, special promotions, curated playlists, unsigned talent and gives you the ability to create on-the-fly mixes.”
Google also plans to add a localisation feature to the page, enabling users can find information on concerts happening in their area.
Google expects its revamped music directory to continue You Tube's dominance of the market, maintaining its position as one of the leading platforms to view videos and find new music.
