Research in Motion’s (RIM) BlackBerry Curve 9300 has been spotted bearing the T-Mobile logo, indicating that the network provider could soon launch the smartphone in the UK and US.
Images of the new smartphone were found by BlackBerry-focused news site BBgeeks, which reports that the smartphone will not only be available to T-Mobile in the UK and US, but also in Canada via network service provider Rogers.
Experts have predicted that the new Curve 9300 will be an upgrade of the Curve 8520, but will not be upgradable to BlackBerry OS 6, which brings iPhone like touch capabilities to the smartphone series.
According to the information leaked by BBgeeks, the Curve 9300 smartphone will come with a 624MHZ processor, 256MB RAM, 256MB ROM, a two-megapixel digital camera and 3G functionality.
RIM's BlackBerry remains the most popular smartphone in the US, but has seen its market share begin to decrease as it faces increasing competition from Apple’s iPhone and devices based on Google’s Android mobile OS.
