Android 3.0 On Nexus One Picture Emerges Online

Do take both snippets of news with a pinch of salt.

The next major version of Google's mobile platform, Android OS 3.0, otherwise known as Gingerbread, is set to be launched by September 2010 and the first claimed picture of the OS has been leaked.

A source provided Phandroid (opens in new tab) with a picture of what seems to be a Nexus One running the wild beast with its top and bottom parts covered.

Obviously, the picture may well have been doctored although, if that's the case it would be an especially good one given that there's a noticeable reflection on the screen.

There's also another proof of the existence of Android in the benchmarking software for Android, Linpack, where Android 3.0, Android 3.01 and Android 3.2 ROMs have been spotted, leading us to believe that Google may well be preparing several updates concurrently.

Do take both snippets of news with a pinch of salt.
